Michael Saller has well and truly made his mark on the Australian Karting landscape after recording his first ever National Karting title on bitumen in Rotax Heavy, Saller will now turn his attention to the final round of the CIK Stars of Karting Series in Melbourne.

Against some of the toughest opposition in Karting, including multiple National Champion Matthew Wall, local, Lee Mitchener and Queenslander Kel Treseder, the 17 year old came out on top in the al important 20 lap final.

“To win the 2013 nationals is unbelievable and it still hasn’t sunk in, it’s the ultimate Father’s Day present to my dad who does so much for me,” Saller said.

After some unfortunate results throughout the Rotax Pro Tour season that has seen Michael come within laps of winning a round, the young gun admits the chance to stand on top of the podium at the biggest event of the season is the ultimate accolade.

“Along the way it has been very tough and many people doubted me and gave up on me, my family and Troy Farley stuck with me and I owe this to them,” Saller added.

Midway through the season, a change to Sydney based Karting World saw Michael join the Tony kart fraternity, though it has been a challenge to adapt to the new Kart at times, the National Championship victory will provide an incentive boost to continue his advancements in development behind the wheel.

“Since our partnership with Karting World it’s been a matter of piecing everything together and I can’t wait to try back up my form in future events.”

“I just want to thank my Dad, Mum and Sister, Troy Farley, Karting World, Tony Kart Australia and Tom Williamson for their amazing support,” Saller concluded.

The final round of the 2013 CIK Stars of Karting Series takes place at Todd Road, Melbourne from September 20-22.
