For the first time in almost a decade, the famous Birel brand will once again be seen at the top level of karting in Australia throughout 2013.
A new arrangement by Birel S.p.A. and Birel Pacific s.r.l. will see Birel Kartsport Australia become the Australian distributor for Birel karts, Freeline components and BMB Engines.
Birel Kartsport Australia’s Steve Macken, who is already the importer and distributor for the Birel-made R K Karts brand, says the new arrangement came about after a recent visit to Australia by Birel President, Mr Ronni Sala and Birel Pacific President, Mr Tadashi Sasaki.
“Over the past six months we have enjoyed a significant response to the launch of the RK Kart onto the Australian market and this new agreement is an extension of our relationship with the Birel factory,” said Macken.
“I spent a significant amount of time with both Mr Sala and Mr Sasaki recently during their trip to Kalgoorlie, which is where we came to the new arrangement.
“I firmly believe Birel Kartsport Australia has the potential to take it to the ‘big guns’ in Australian karting with some fantastic Birel products and I’m looking forward to a big campaign in 2013.”
With RK Karts and a full range of parts currently in stock, Birel Kartsport Australia will also have the new 2013 range of Birel Karts in stock prior to Christmas.
