St George Kart Centre are proud to announce that they have been appointed as the exclusive Australian distributor to Modena engines.
Modena Engines is a newcomer to the world of kart racing, where it has joined the KZ class. And for its debut, the company will be showcasing its brand new KK1, an engine that’s chock-ablock with innovative solutions. With its compact design, allowing a wide range of chassis movement, the kart structure is optimised and a relatively spacious area left for the driver. The inclination of the cylinder improves intake, directing the flow straight to the transfers. The separate lubrication system between the gear shift and the primary transmission drive means the amount of oil used is minimal, which improves performance. Among all these innovative design touches though, the one that really stands out is the thermal insulation system; this system allows the kart’s performance levels to be improved without working on the crankcase. This system is based on the presence of a removable insert in the crankcase, whose shape and section can be altered and which means the mixture taken in can flow at significantly lower temperatures, thereby improving volumetric efficiency.
Modena have already shown it potential in Europe achieving pole position and race wins in the WSK series.
The standard version of the KK1 will retail for A$4900.00 inc GST while the race version will sell for A$5750.00 inc GST
