GO-KART racing may seem like a minority sport, but it’s one that is taking off at a rapid rate in Wagga.
The Wagga District Kart Racing Club (WDKRC) has seen increasing numbers at its monthly race days.
It had one of its best events to date at the weekend, when 31 drivers from as far away as Canberra, Leeton and Griffith flocked to the city to compete over 10 individual classes.
The wet weather held off long enough for the drivers, their families and other onlookers to get a full day’s racing in at the site off Tasman Road.
The WDKRC invites any newcomers to try the sport at one of its “come and try” days every two months.
The next race day is penciled in for September 29.
