Orders can now be placed for the Vortex Mini Rok engine to be used on Australian circuits as of 2015

2015 marks a new era for kart racing in Australia, particularly in the Cadet classes where the Vortex Mini Rok engine will be able to be used for the first time.

Following today’s announcement by the OTK Kart Group (http://www.vortex-engines.com/leggi_news_eng.php?ID_news=929) that the Paul Feeney Group (PFG) is now the Australian importer for the engine, pre-orders can now be placed.

As of January 1, 2015 the Vortex Mini Rok engine will be able to be used in competition at

National, State and Club levels. In 2015, the engine will be incorporated in the new KA12 class in the Australian Kart Championship while also eligible at State and Club Levels in the Cadet 9 (restricted format) and Cadet 12 (unrestricted format) classes.

Australia will become the 20th country in the world to use the Vortex Mini Rok engine. The engine will have its homologation confirmed during November, following which time Karting Australia will advise when competitors are eligible to commence practicing with them.

An introductory price of $2,790 (inc. GST) is currently being offered by PFG for the first 250 engines, once this stock is exhausted the retail price will become $2,870 (inc. GST). This price includes the complete engine and all ancillaries.

To provide the most even playing field for competitors, blueprinting of the engines will not be permitted under the 2015 competition rules. Competitors will be required to race with engines that are identified as having been manufactured to the new Karting Australia homologation. Only engines with the unique identification number will be eligible for competition.
