KENNEDY AND CAMPBELL ANNOUNCED FOR 2025 FIA KARTING ACADEMY TROPHY

Karting Australia is proud to announce that Annabel Kennedy and Hamish Campbell have been selected to represent the nation in the 2025 FIA Karting Academy Trophy – Senior and Junior.

The global one-make series, organised by the FIA, provides a unique platform for young talent to compete on an international stage in identical karts, ensuring a level playing field to showcase pure driver skill. Both Kennedy and Campbell will fly the Australian flag in the Senior and Junior categories, respectively, as they take on the world’s best young karters.

Kennedy has consistently proven her ability at national and state levels. She is a two-time winner at the Pink Plate Event in KA3 Junior and Senior and has secured multiple podium finishes in state competitions.  She has also claimed heat race wins at the highly competitive Australian Kart Championship.

Kennedy is eager to take on the world’s best and showcase the strength of female competitors in the sport.

“Competing against the best drivers in the world, regardless of gender, is an opportunity I’ve been working toward for years. This is a chance to not only prove myself on the world stage but also inspire young female racers to chase their motorsport dreams,” said Kennedy.

At just 13 years old, Campbell has already built an impressive resume. The 2024 Australian Junior Rotax Champion and multiple-time podium finisher in the Australian Kart Championship has also previously represented Australia internationally at the ROK World Final and Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Finals.  He recently won round two of the RMC Winter Trophy in Orlando and secured a podium finish in Thailand’s Rotax International Trophy Asia.

“Representing Australia in the FIA Karting Academy Trophy is an incredible honour. It’s an opportunity to develop my skills, race against the best, and show the strength of Australian karting on a global level,” said Campbell.

The 2025 FIA Karting Academy Trophy will see Kennedy and Campbell compete in three rounds throughout Europe aboard identical equipment provided by the OTK Kart Group.

Their selection continues Australia’s proud tradition of producing world-class karting talent, further cementing the sport’s role as a critical pathway to international motorsport success.
