AUSTRALIAN INVASION IN MACAU

A strong contingent of Australian drivers has landed in Macau to compete in the 2015 CIK-FIA Asia Pacific KZ2 Championship this weekend.

No less than 10 drivers from various parts of the country have ventured across to the event that is being contested on the 1203-metre Kartodromo de Coloane circuit.

Competing in his second international event of the year is 2014 Australian KF Champion Troy Loeskow under the Patrizicorse banner aboard a Ricciardo Kart alongside Dutchman Marijn Kremers and Western Australian Hayden Patrizi.

Patrizi is joined on the grid by fellow West Aussies Darren Burke, Simon Gwilliam, Bayley Mickler and Josh Wood.

Tom Williamson Motorsport is also fielding four drivers the event with Canberra youngsters Joshua Fife and Zane Morse to gain valuable experience at the event – as are New South Wales driver Cody Gillis and South Australian Jonathan Mangos.

Italian Lorenzo Camplese set the pace during the opening day of practice with Fife the best of the Aussies in fifth.

Qualifying and the opening heat race will be contested today before the racing continues across the weekend.
