AUSSIES READY TO ROK AT 2022 ROK SUPERFINAL IN ITALY

Six Australians are set to take to the circuit at the 20th edition of the RoK Super Final at the South Garda Karting track, located in Lonato Italy this week.

Two-Time Australian Champion Sebastian Eskandari-Marandi will lead the charge in the Mini RoK class  where he will race for the Poland Parolin team as he hopes to add to his already impressive 2022 results. Eskandari-Marandi and Hamish Campbell are competing at the event courtesy of Vortex and Karting Australia as a prize for their success in the Australian Kart Championship throughout the year.

Victorian William Calleja, who is coming off the back of a podium finish in last weekend’s warm-up event, Calleja will also look for a strong result after spending most of 2022 racing over in Europe in preparation to take it to the other 96 drivers in the Mini RoK Class. After graduating through the SP Tools Junior Sprockets program a few years ago, Corey Carson, continues his progress through the sport with his international debut this weekend.

Western Australian competitor Nicholas Stati will line up in the Junior RoK Class while Australian Kart Championship front-runner Cody Maynes-Rutty has returned to Europe to compete in the Shifter RoK division aboard his Factory PCR machine.

Free Practice began on Wednesday ahead of qualifying and the opening round of heats. The heat races will continue tomorrow before the finals get underway on Sunday.
