BELGIAN BANGS IT ON POLE IN PUCKAPUNYAL

Belgium driver Ean Eyckmans has made a stunning start to his Australian debut by setting the pace in the TaG 125 class during qualifying at Round Two of the 2024 SP Tools Australian Kart Championship presented by Castrol.

The WSK Super Masters Champion steered his Vortex Rok GP-powered Birel ART around the Puckapunyal circuit to finish on top in the TaG 125 class ahead of reigning Australian Champion Harrison Hoey.

Eyckmans was also on the pace in the X30 Class where he was third fastest behind multiple-time Australian Champion Brad Jenner and rising star Pip Casabene.  Such is the intensity of the class, the top six drivers were separated by less than a tenth of a second.

In the elite KZ2 class, it was Western Australian Dylan Guest who set the pace ahead of Championship leader Josh Fife, Sam Dicker and Round 1 Winner Henry Johnstone.

Others to start their weekend off in the best possible way were Lewis Cordato (KA2), Benito Montalbano (KA3 Senior), Jack Szewczuk (KA3 Junior), Jarvis Hindle (Cadet 9) and Archie Bristow (Cadet 12).
