KARTING AUSTRALIA RELEASES 2023 ANNUAL REPORT

The Australian Karting Association Ltd (Karting Australia) has published its Annual Report for the year ending December 31, 2023, following the Annual General Meeting held on Tuesday, May 28, 2024.

Karting Australia experienced substantial progress in 2023, with significant growth across various aspects of the sport. Participation surged by an impressive 16%, reflecting the increasing interest in karting as both a competitive and recreational activity. This growth is attributed to successful grassroots initiatives and enhanced accessibility. Additionally, the number of karting licenses issued increased by 7%, indicating a strong influx of new and returning participants.

The release of the 2023 Annual Report marks the tenth report since AKA Ltd assumed control of the sport on September 1, 2013. Over the past decade, the organisation has undergone a remarkable transformation, driven by strategic initiatives, modernisation efforts, and a commitment to excellence, stability, and integrity. The 2023 Annual Report includes a summary of significant operations and achievements, showcasing the journey from financial instability to becoming a leader in the karting and Australian motorsport communities.

Following the AGM, as required by the Constitution, the Karting Australia Board met to appoint the 2024/25 Chair. Kevin Davis accepted the nomination with unanimous support from his fellow Directors. The Directors also expressed their gratitude to Rob Crawford, who, after serving as a Director for ten years, is required to step down from the Board in accordance with the Constitution.
