The Queensland Kart Champions were crowned for 2024 at the Ipswich Kart Club on Sunday with Brisbane teenager Isaac McNeill being the big winner of the weekend.

McNeill was the dominant driver across the weekend in the event that was presented by the OnSite Rental Group as he showed the field a clean pair of heels in the KA3 Junior Heavy and elite junior class – KA2.

Victorian Samuel March crossed the line second in both classes, however, a post-race technical infringement handed the runner-up spot in KA2 to Ky Burke.

Gold Coaster Jack Szewczuk survived a late race challenge to win the KA3 Junior Light category. The win went down to literally the last few corners after Szewczuk held off the spirited challenges from Jye Flynn and Annabelle Kennedy.

Joining McNeill with dual victories was Kel Goesch who claimed the win in both the TaG Restricted Masters and Medium categories. Local veteran, Gaven Whitmore greeted the chequered flag first but was dropped to third with a post-race front fairing infringement. In the Medium category, Goesch made a last lap pass on Josh Herne for the win.

The TaG 125 Light final was frantic one. Early favourites Mika Lemasurier and Max Walton were forced out when they came together while fastest qualifier Kianh Burt found himself at the back of the field after an incident on the opening lap.

Jack Webster to cross the line first in a dominant display, however he was given a 10-second penalty following a stewards hearing for his part in an incident with Lemasurier handing the win to Jace Matthews.

Other victories went to Oliver Armitt (Cadet 9), Cooper Folley (Cadet 12), Dominic Penman (KA3 Senior) Jack Munro (TaG 125 Restricted Light), Brent Reading (TaG 125 Heavy) and Harrison Hoey (DD2)
