AUSTRALIAN DRIVERS SELECTED FOR 2024 FIA MOTORSPORT GAMES IN SPAIN

Karting Australia, in conjunction with Motorsport Australia, is excited to announce the selection of Jay Kostecki, Riley Harrison, and Pip Casabene to represent Australia at the 2024 FIA Motorsport Games in Spain next month.

The third running of the event will once again bring together top motorsport talents from around the world, showcasing their skills across various motorsport disciplines, including karting.

The FIA Motorsport Games, organised by the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA), serves as an Olympic-style competition in motorsport. Nations compete across multiple categories, earning medals and points towards an overall national tally. The Games offer a unique platform for drivers to demonstrate their abilities on an international stage while fostering global unity through sport.

Jay Kostecki, who will compete in the Cadet category at the event, has had an impressive year, finishing third in the Australian Cadet 12 Championship. This adds to his runner-up finish in the Cadet 9 category in 2023. Kostecki is also making his mark internationally, with credible performances overseas, including a podium finish last weekend in the WSK Super Cup.

Riley Harrison has been selected for the Junior category. Harrison was last year victorious at the FIA Asia-Pacific Motorsport Games and his consistent performances in domestic championships have earned him another opportunity to compete on the international stage.

Representing Australia in the Senior category, Pip Casabene is no stranger to success. The 2023 Australian KA3 Junior Champion has made a seamless transition into the Senior ranks, consistently performing at a high level throughout the year.

“We are thrilled to have Jay, Riley, and Pip representing Australia at the 2024 FIA Motorsport Games.  We are confident they will make Australia proud on the world stage and wish them the best of luck,” said Karting Australia CEO Kelvin O’Reilly.

The 2024 FIA Motorsport Games will take place in Spain, featuring competitors from across the globe in a celebration of motorsport excellence. With an impressive lineup of drivers, Australia is set to make a strong impact at this prestigious event.
