AUSTRALIAN KART CHAMPIONSHIP TO BE SHOWN LIVE ON 7PLUS

For the first time in history, kart racing in Australia will be broadcast live on 7plus Sport – the Seven Network’s video on digital streaming platform. Rounds 2-5 of the 2025 SP Tools Australian Kart Championship presented by Castrol will be available for live and on-demand viewing, when it makes its debut on the platform next month.

The landmark coverage will kick off with Round Two of the 2025 Championship, taking place at Murray Bridge, South Australia on May 3-4, and will feature more than eight hours of live racing across the two days.

The 7plus broadcast will place a national spotlight on the sport’s top emerging talent, with over 340 competitors – including rising stars from Australia, New Zealand, and Asia – set to compete across eight classes, from Cadet 9 through to the premier KZ2 gearbox category. The Championship represents the true breeding ground for Australian motorsport, where current Formula 1 drivers like Oscar Piastri and Jack Doohan once honed their craft before reaching the world stage.

“Motorsport is an integral part of our sport offering on 7plus, and we’re thrilled to welcome the Australian Kart Championship to the platform,” said Renee Quirk, Seven Network Commercial Director – Sport.

“At Seven, we are extremely passionate about the growth of all sporting codes from the grassroots to the elite, and we look forward to welcoming new, engaged audiences to the 2025 Australian Kart Championship and to showcase the drivers’ skill to a national audience.”

Karting Australia Chief Executive Officer Kelvin O’Reilly praised the partnership, calling it a major step forward for the sport.

“To have the SP Tools Australian Kart Championship streamed live on 7plus Sport is a tremendous opportunity to showcase our sport to a broader audience and have karting recognised as a genuine and exciting form of motorsport,” said O’Reilly.

“We are really looking forward to working with the incredible team at the Seven Network and  bringing this to life on screens and devices across the country alongside some of Australia’s most popular programs and sports.”

Fans can tune in to the action by visiting 7plus.com.au or downloading the 7plus app on smart TVs, computers, or mobile devices.
