Australian Karting Association Ltd (Karting Australia) has released the Annual Report for the year ending 31 December, 2021 following the Annual General Meeting held on Thursday May 26, 2022.

“The financial result for the year was outstanding given the trying conditions that we have all been forced to endure due to COVID-19 over the past couple of years,” said Karting Australia Chief Executive Officer Kelvin O’Reilly.

“We’re proud to see the reinvigoration for our sport by all levels from Club events right through to the Australian Kart Championship.”

The AGM was outgoing Chairman Glen Egan’s last official duty as a Director, having decided to retire after decades of distinguished service to karting. Mr Egan is one of the very few who have held the highest administrative posts at Club, State Association and National levels in our sport.

“Glen has been involved in our sport for decades as a Karter, a Club President, a State President, a Karting Australia Director and most recently as our Chair. Glen’s commitment to our sport on so many fronts has been outstanding,” said O’Reilly.

“I particularly want to acknowledge his commitment to karting in New South Wales. When the upheaval happened in 2018, Glen stood taller than almost anyone.”

As is required by the Constitution, following the AGM, the Karting Australia Board met to appoint the 2022/23 Chair. Kevin Davis accepting the nomination with unanimous support from his fellow Directors. Nathan Murray will act as his Deputy Chair.

Samantha Reid and Garth Tander were appointed Directors in September 2021 and April 2022, respectively to fill vacancies on the Board in accordance with the constitution. Their appointments were affirmed at the AGM.
