2020 Annual Report Released outlining significant surplus
Australian Karting Association Ltd (Karting Australia) has released the Annual Report for the year ending 31 December, 2020 following the Annual General Meeting held on Thursday May 27, 2021.
“The financial result for the year was outstanding in view of the COVID-19 circumstances that confronted our sport in 2020,” said Karting Australia Chief Executive Officer Kelvin O’Reilly.
“The reignition strategy and our roadmap out of COVID restrictions to full competition that Karting Australia put in place with our Member States and Clubs worked fabulously well in the most trying of circumstances.”
At the AGM, the Member States confirmed the Board of Directors. Retiring Director Rob Crawford offering himself for re-election. In accordance with the Constitution, he was taken to be elected for a further term.
Nathan Murray was also elected to the Board in accordance with the Constitution. Murray brings a wealth of business experience to the Board with more than two decades in the finance industry. He is a leader in his field of finance and a respected member of his local and business communities in his role as Managing Director of Morris Finance.
Murray has a long history as a supporter and sponsor in multiple motorsport disciplines and is active in karting also has a strong community commitment to his make-up and has been a mentor with The Captain’s Club at the Geelong Football Club as well as being an advisor and philanthropic contributor to various teams and organisations associated within Supercars, AFL, International and Local Communities, Foodbank, Headspace and Rotary.
“Over the past 12 months we have worked very hard to attract high calibre new Directors to supplement our existing Board,” said O’Reilly.
Murray joins Australian Grand Prix Corporation Chief Executive Officer Andrew Westacott and Austech Industries Managing Director Kevin Davis as additions to the Karting Australia Board since May 2020.
Karting Australia acknowledges Traditional Owners of Country throughout Australia and recognises the continuing connection to lands, waters and communities.
