14 Australians are set to travel across the globe in attempt to conquer the world at the 2017 Rotax Max Challenge Grand Final (RMCGF) at the Kartodromo Internacional Algave Circuit in Portimao, Portugal on November 4 – 11.
Taking on the world for the first time in the Micro Max category is Series Champion Harry Arnett who sets to make his International racing debut on the main stage in just under a weeks time. Rising star James Wharton has earnt his second consecutive World Final Ticket and will be challenging for the Mini Max World Championship.
The Junior Max Category will be contested by Jac Preston, Broc Feeney & Jaiden Pope all first time drivers to the Rotax Max Challenge Grand Final.
Brad Jenner, Cody Brewczynski & Cameron Longmore will fight it out for World Number One status, this will be Brad’s third appearance at the International Rotax event, Brewczynski competed in the Junior Max Category in 2016 and set to make his Senior Max International racing debut on November 4 – 11. The 2017 RMCGF also see’s Cameron Longmore join Team Australia for the first time.
2017 DD2 Series Champion Josh Fife looks to round out the perfect year with a World Title, alongside him Cody Gillis who last year contested for championship status in the Senior Max category & Ryan Kennedy will also be joining the DD2 field for his thrid appearance at the Rotax Max Challenge Grand Final.
DD2 Masters see’s last years “Captain Kangaroo” Troy Woolston head over to conquer the world for his fifth time. After passing over the reins to Scott Howard our 2017 Captain, Howard will also line up in the DD2 Masters Category for his third time. V8 Ute Champion, Kris Walton rounds out the three Australians in DD2 Masters for his second appearance.
The 2017 Australian Team is a mix of talented debutants and experienced veterans, who as a team look set to challenge for back to back wins of the Team Contest and add another Nations Cup to the trophy cabinet.
