BRAD Fleetwood is a born and bred Gladstone man and that is a situation he is delighted with.
On weekends when the weather is good you can find him taking part in one of a great many outdoor activities.
“The diversity of stuff to do here is great. ‘We have the ocean, Awoonga Lake, so many sports, the track …
“It (Gladstone) is really what you make of it.”
For the past 12 years he has worked as a boat mechanic.
However, he also loves four-wheeled transport, especially karts.
He first experienced go-karting when he was seven and is now the vice president of the Gladstone Kart Club.
Mr Fleetwood races on the circuit once a month, but he is at the track most weekends.
It was a big weekend for the club, which held a come and try day on Sunday.
“A lot more people turned up than expected,” Mr Fleetwood said.
Karting Australia acknowledges Traditional Owners of Country throughout Australia and recognises the continuing connection to lands, waters and communities.
We pay our respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and to Elders past and present.
