Victorian Matty Smith will become the first Australian driver to compete in the KZ2 class aboard a Madcroc chassis at Round two of the Australian Kart Championship later this month.
Smith has joined the Madcroc New Zealand team led by Ryan Grant that is focused on contesting the entire 2016 Championship on this side of the Tasman.
“Matty and his father Brett have shown that they have the determination and the willingness to learn which for a team starting out is most important, we have every faith in Matty, said Grant.
After seeing the potential of the Madcroc product at the Championship opener in Dubbo, where Grant finished third aboard the new MK01 chassis, Smith was impressed.
“We are really looking forward to working with Madcroc and moving up the front,” said Smith.
