Karting Australia’s introductory program, the SP Tools Junior Sprockets, will kickstart 2022 with a flurry of dates throughout January in Victoria and New South Wales.
The January Tour of Junior Sprockets will see the program be held at the Go-Kart Club of Victoria, Bendigo Kart Club, Sapphire Coast Kart Club and the Newcastle Kart Racing Club between January 10 and 18.
Each venue will have dedicated sessions for both the Junior Sprockets beginner program and the intermediate Junior Sprockets Plus platform
The Junior Sprockets is a participation initiative developed by Karting Australia that provides participants aged between 6 & 12 years of age with the opportunity to experience the thrill and excitement of driving an authentic racing kart in a safe and controlled environment.
At the completion of the two-hour intensive program, each child will be presented with a gift bag containing an array of merchandise including information on how to ‘Get Started in Karting’ along with a free 12 month Karting Australia practice licence to assist them with the transition into competitive karting.
The Junior Sprockets Plus program a more specific program that is designed for those children that are actively involved in the sport and understand the basics of karting. The program has been tailored to focus on driving techniques and race craft to provide current licence holders with a boost in their racing.
“The SP Tools Junior Sprockets program is a fantastic introduction into the sport for beginners. Under the guidance of our experienced instructors, participants will learn the basics and from that start and will eventually graduate them to a larger circuit,” said Karting Australia Development Manager Troy Hunt.
“In addition to our beginner program, we are extremely excited to be delivering our Junior Sprocket Plus program at these events. The Plus program is an intermediate program that is focused on helping develop existing karters skills, as well as their parents’ ability to work on the kart off track.”
