Karting Australia in conjunction with Arthur J. Gallagher has launched the Karting Australia Risk Management Program (KARM).
The KARM Program provides affiliated karting clubs with access to information and resources for ongoing risk management and protection needs.
The program allows clubs to demonstrate their understanding, commitment and implementation of various risk management initiatives.
There are four (4) KARM levels.
Each level requires clubs to complete a few basic and/or enhanced tasks to demonstrate their risk protection systems or processes.
“In today’s society, Risk Management is a key area that all businesses and organisations need to remain on top of, hence the launch of Karting Australia’s Risk Management Program,” said Karting Australia Chief Executive Officer Kelvin O’Reilly.
“KARM has been more than 12 months in the planning with the team at Arthur J. Gallagher and we’re looking forward to being able to roll the program out to our clubs across the country.
“We are releasing Level 1 of the four level program today. Levels 2, 3 and 4 will be progressively released in the coming months after clubs have had the opportunity to work at the “Understanding Risk” level for a period of time.
“Clubs should not feel daunted by the program, it’s designed to help them improve the way they do things and minimise the potential exposure to risk.
“It has been designed so that clubs who already manage risk at a high level and have a good understanding of risk protection can achieve industry recognition and promotion within the Karting Australia community.
“For the clubs that may need some help identifying and addressing potential risks they can build confidence through knowledge as they progresses through each level of the KARM program.”
For Arthur J. Gallagher Senior Account Executive Brad Edwards, the launch of KARM is the latest step in the ever-growing partnership between Karting Australia and Arthur J. Gallagher.
“Since we started working with the team at Karting Australia three years ago, one of the key areas we identified was the need for a formalised structure for a risk management program for clubs across the country,” said Edwards.
“We understand that clubs are the backbone of sport and volunteers are essential for clubs to survive within Australia. With this in mind, we felt it was important to develop a volunteer-friendly program that supports and encourages volunteers, creating sustainable clubs into the future.
“KARM has been designed so that it helps to identify and address risk exposures for everyone involved, whether that be clubs, drivers, spectators or officials. The better that we can manage the risks associated with the sport, the better long-term position we will all be in.”
In conjunction with the launch of KARM, a dedicated website has been established for club representatives to begin their KARM accreditation. To view the website please click here.
