With the start of the New Year, Karting Australia is pleased to be welcoming the affiliation of the Toowoomba & Lockyer Valley Kart Club and the Lismore Kart Club.
The Toowoomba Club confirmed their affiliation with Karting Queensland effective January 1, while last night the members of the Lismore Kart Club voted overwhelmingly 82 to 13 to immediately seek affiliation with Karting Australia (NSW).
“We look forward to welcoming both Toowoomba and Lismore back to the Karting Australia fold,” said Karting Australia Chair Kevin Davis.
“Our Board and senior management, along with our Member States and affiliated Clubs, are fully focused on growing the sport. This includes welcoming the affiliation of Clubs who share our values and understand the benefits of being a part of our internationally recognised federated structure.
“To have both Clubs coming back under the Karting Australia umbrella is a great way to start the new year for the karting community in South East Queensland and Northern New South Wales. The solidarity between the karting clubs in the region is fantastic for the sport and provides a significant benefit for licences holders from both States.
“We welcome the members of both Clubs and look forward to seeing their events flourish throughout 2023.”
Karting Australia staff will be working closely with the State Associations and Club Executive to ensure that there is a smooth transition for all licence holders over the coming weeks.
Karting Australia acknowledges Traditional Owners of Country throughout Australia and recognises the continuing connection to lands, waters and communities.
We pay our respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and to Elders past and present.
