ROTAX WORLDS – Pierce Lehane Leads the Aussie Charge

Issue #4 of KARTX Magazine is hot off the press and has shipped to subscribers and kart shops across the country today.
Australia’s team of 12 drivers headed over to Portugal to compete in the 13th Annual Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals and it was Pierce Lehane who showed the way by qualifying on pole position and winning three heat races.
James Golding went under the radar before claiming a top ten finish in Junior Max and Kyle Ensbey drove the ‘race of his life’ in the DD2 Final. Read all about the event, including a special feature with the voice of karting Ken Walker, in this month’s edition.
Next year will mark the 20th Anniversary since Richard McLeod won the inaugural CIK Stars of Karting Championship. KARTX recently caught up with the former Pro Light (KF1) (previously known as Formula A) Champion who is now living in Dubai and working as a mentor and mechanic for several rising stars from the United Arab Emirates.
We also caught up for a one-on-one chat with the boss of Birel, Ronni Sala, where he speaks about how important the Australian market is to the famous kart manufacturer.
Ryan Briscoe has been one of Australia’s highest profile karting graduates, KARTX recently spoke to him about his karting days and what advice he has for young Australian drivers. Read his feature interview in this month’s edition.
