Multiple-time Australian Champion Kip Foster has taken back-to-back victories at the SKUSA SuperNationals in Las Vegas, America.
Competing in the TaG Masters class the Western Australian driver was the pacesetter throughout qualifying and three heat races to start the main event on pole position.
Despite dropping back to fourth in the early running of the event Foster used all of his experience to claw his way back towards the lead, of which he regained with a handful of laps remaining.
Foster went on to claim the victory aboard his Australian-made Arrow chassis by crossing the line 1.074 seconds clear of Diego Pelosi. V8 Supercar endurance driver Alex Premat was running strongly inside the top three before an incident late in the race ended his run.
In his sixth attempt at victory in the event, David Sera will be forced to return in 2016 if he is going to claim the elusive victory. The 17-time Australian Champion was amongst the pacesetters all throughout the weekend and started the final from pole position but was unable to convert it into a win finishing seventh.
Of Sera’s fellow Australians in the field JC Karts pilot Liam McLellan, who was competing at the event with funding support courtesy of his victory in the KF2 Championship earlier this month, finished the best in 14th. Jordi Marcon made the transfer into the final through the second-chance race before finishing 24th. Scott Saunders was classified 28th while Aiden Passmore and Ben Stewart both failed to finish.
Ricciardo Kart driver Lochie Hughes ran as high as third in the TaG Junior final only to have a clutch issue force him onto the sidelines after nine laps. Joshua Fife finished as the best of the Aussies in 26th.
In his first competitive drive in more than 12 months Michael Patrizi crossed the line seventh in the S4 class before receiving a four-place post race penalty.
In the KZ2 class Queenslander Jason Faint was closing in on a top ten finish in the final before fading to 17th. Both Jaie Robson and Kyle Ensbey failed to finish.
