Western Australian based Lenzo Kart Australia can successfully announce an expanded driver line up for Australia’s elite Karting series, the CIK Stars of Karting Series for the 2012 season.
Following an exciting introduction to the series in 2011 with Perth teenager Jake Klarich who had consistently strong results in the Pro Junior KF3 category, the team is ecstatic with the expansion for this year. Team Principal Brendan Shugg stated, “We are happy to have a larger team this year and hopefully can continue our results on from our very successful 2011 year with top results in all 3 pro classes.”
Lenzo Kart Australia has even spread of two drivers in each pro category for this season, and early testing suggests the Italian built chassis will again be strong heading into the Championship.
Pro Gearbox – KZ2 drivers – Anthony Martin and Paul Williams
Pro Light – KF1 drivers- Jake Klarich and Luke Gabin
Pro Junior – KF3 drivers- Kurt Kostecki and Patrick Martin.
Shugg added, “We have a very young driver line up but they are all very talented and proven front runners. It is also good to see Paul Williams get back in the seat at the top level of Karting with this last CIK event being in 2005,” further stating, “with the added support from the European Factory I think this year will be definaitly as successful as last and hopefully take home more round wins along the way and the big prize at the end.”
2011 Lenzo Kart Pro Junior driver Jake Klarich also stated, “it will be a good thing to have more Lenzo karts out on track to expand our data feedback opportunities,” further adding, “last year we went well in the Lenzo chassis and we are confident that this year being a bigger team that we can do even better.”
The opening round of the 2012 CIK Stars of Karting Series will take place on February 25-26 at Bolivar Raceway, South Australia.
