MARLON Fraser looms as one of the local leading hopes of taking out a victory at this weekend’s 41st North West Victorian Titles, hosted by the Mildura Kart Club.

After racing in the senior classes for the past two years, the 18-year-old feels ready to get a big win under his belt, racing in the Restricted 125 Light Class.

The North West Titles are the biggest event in the local karting calendar, with 150 entrants from across the country competing last year.

Fraser said he hoped to break through for his maiden victory after multiple podium finishes.

“I’ve never been as confident before as I am now (heading into an event),” he said.

“Hopefully I can get the win on the board.”

The teenager started racing karts four years ago and under the tuition of club member Anthony Burke, has come along in leaps and bounds.
