KARTING
SOUTH Australia’s Mick Stott has been awarded life membership of the Australian Karting Association in recognition of outstanding work in the sport, notably track safety.
Stott began with karting in 1971 and has been a competitor and official. For the past 12 years he has been the national track safety co-ordinator.
‘‘I’ve been very passionate about track safety and wanting every one of our competitors to go home in one piece,’’ he said after his award at the AKA annual meeting in Cairns.
