Queenslander Kel Treseder has confirmed a pair of new sponsors for his campaign in the 2015 Australian Kart Championship.
While running under the Energy Corse Australia marquee with equipment supplied from his long-term supporter Kels Karts & Parts, Treseder is excited to be partnering with Andrew Freeman from FMA Motorsport as well as the Queensland Citrus company, Sweetee Citrus, for the first time.
JT Motorsport will continue to provide Treseder with the engine support needed and he will also have Volvo Polestar Racing’s V8 Supercar driver Scott McLaughlin in his team throughout his Championship campaign in the KZ2 class.
Perth-based FMA Motorsport has been a huge supporter of KZ racing in Western Australia over the past few years and have joined forces with Treseder to increase their presence on the East Coast.
Sweetee Citrus will engage in their new-found interest of Australian Kart Racing for the first time with Treseder which is far from their normal working relationship of growing, packaging and exporting citrus to the world.
McLaughlin, a keen karter aboard his own KZ2 kart when not tied up with his V8 Supercar commitments, will assist Treseder throughout his 2015 campaign.
“Scott has been around the sport of karting for many years and his time that he has spent behind the wheel of a KZ2 kart will be of a great assistance,” said Treseder.
“I’ve known him for a number of years now and watched him progress through the ranks. We both have very similar personalities, I think it’s a going to be a great year.
“Obviously Scott has a massive professional motorsport career with a busy schedule in the V8 Supercars Championship along with other PR commitments and it’s great to be able to work with him.
“Really for us, it’s about just going out there, having some fun, enjoying the race weekend and bringing as much to the table as possible.
“None of this would be possible without the support of my wife Danielle, she has been one of the main influences in helping me commit to racing at the top level again in 2015.”
The opening round of the Australian Kart Championship will be contested on April 3-5 in Melbourne.
