The new format of the State Championships across the country saw numerous new winners, along with some familiar faces, find their way onto the top step of the podium last weekend.
New South Wales
Griffith was the venue for the opening round of the NSW Kart Championship last weekend with Tyler Everingham coming away with a pair of victories.
In Junior National Light Everingham was a narrow victor ahead of Cody Burcher and Lewis Hodgson with Jacque Isarin and Kody Garland standing alongside Everingham on the Junior Clubman podium.
CRG driver Brett Robinson returned to the top step of the podium in Clubman Heavy while Pierce Lehane dominated TAG 125 ahead of Matthew Waters and Jaie Robson.

Queensland
In Queensland it was the town of Emerald which was the focus for kart racers for the opening round of the Queensland Kart Championship.
Following on from the form that saw him win the Queensland Championship in the Rookies class last year, Jack Doohan took a clean sweep of the Junior National Light class. Jack Bussey did likewise in Junior National Heavy.
The racing in the Clubman Light field was intense with the competitors putting on some scintillating racing across the weekend. As the chequered flag flew in the final it was James Litzow who claimed the win by 0.03 seconds over Lydon Dodge.

South Australia
The Marquis family re-wrote the history books at the opening round of the South Australian Kart Championship with three members of the one family finishing on the podium.
With the trio competing in the Clubman Heavy class, it was a family affair with the eldest sibling Luke leading home his younger sibling Holly and the pair’s father, Sparky.
“It was an awesome, unbelievable experience,” said Sparky Marquis.
“I got the better of Luke at the start but then he got me back and when I ran wide Holly was able get past me.
“From there I alternated between feelings of protect or attack and get second back, hoping Holly would make a mistake and then hoping she drove a perfect race. When the checkered flag came out and I was still a kart-length back, and smiling.”

Victoria
Victorian drivers faced changeable conditions throughout the weekend for Round Two of the Victorian Kart Championship in Melbourne.
Angelo Mouzouris and Cory Arnett set the pace during the Junior National Light heat races but when they both encountered issues in the final it provided the opportunity for Joshua Smith to take the win ahead of Ben Bargwanna.
Following on from his win in the opening round, Bradley Marsh-Stepney won TAG 125 Light while James Sera proved that he’s lost none of his touch with victory in Clubman Light.
John Doria continued his successful run in Junior National Heavy, as did Aaron Hindle in TaG 125 Heavy while Kyle Rethus upstaged his more fancied rivals to win X30 Light.
