NICK PERCAT CREATING PATHWAYS FOR THE NEXT GENERATION

Matt Stone Racing Supercars Nick Percat is shaping the next generation of motorsport stars through JND Racing, the karting team he launched last year.

Driven by his passion for karting and a commitment to giving back, Percat has developed an elite-level program that goes beyond racing, equipping young drivers with the skills to navigate the broader demands of motorsport.

“Karting has given me so much throughout my career, and I wanted to create something that helps young drivers develop both on and off the track,” said Percat.

“JND is modelled on a Supercars race team, where we focus on more than just driving – we teach media skills, nutrition, and fitness to give our drivers the best possible foundation.”

Percat has maintained a strong connection with the karting world throughout his Supercars career, regularly racing and training in a kart himself. His closest friends, including fellow karters Jake Spencer and Daniel Rochford, have joined him as business partners in JND Racing. Meanwhile, Percat’s close friend and reigning X30 National Champion Brad Jenner has come on board with the team after retiring from the top level of karting as a driver in 2024.  Jenner will be the lead driver coach for 2025, adding further expertise to the program.

One of Percat’s standout moments in his debut year came from young Tasmanian racer Casper Anderson. Competing in the Cadet 12 category, Anderson struggled in the early rounds of the Australian Kart Championship, failing to make the final in the opening event. However, under the guidance of JND Racing, he made remarkable progress, battling for the lead by Round 5.

“Watching the development of these kids over the year, seeing the smiles on their faces and having them come in from a race and thank me makes the blood, sweat, and tears so worthwhile,” said Percat.

JND Racing is quickly gaining a reputation as one of the premier programs for young karting talent in Australia. With a focus on both racing and personal development, Percat and his team are shaping the next generation of motorsport stars, proving that his love for karting extends far beyond his own time on the track.

As JND Racing continues to grow, Percat remains committed to fostering young talent and ensuring that his team serves as a pathway for aspiring drivers looking to make their mark in Australian motorsport.

After several warm-up events, the 2025 campaign for the team will move into the next gear this weekend with the opening round of the 2025 SP Tools Australian Kart Championship presented by Castrol being contested at the Go-Kart Club of Victoria in Melbourne.  Practice will begin on Friday ahead of qualifying and heat races on Saturday followed by the finals on Sunday.

The Go-Kart Club of Victoria is located at 100 Todd Road, Port Melbourne.  Admission is free for spectators.
