REMINDER FOR NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP AND SERIES COMPETITORS

Karting Australia would like to remind all competitors intending to race in the 2015 National Championship and Series events to familiarise themselves with the 2015 Karting Australia Manual for the specific requirements surrounding these events.

The first National Series event to be held in 2015 is the opening Rotax Pro Tour event on January 23-25, hosted by the Go-Kart Club of Victoria.

Some of the specific requirements surrounding the National Championship and Series events include:

Pit Crew Licence (KA Manual Page 101)
All persons including mechanics, pit crew, parents and guardians who require access to the Race Track Area, the in grid, the out grid, scrutineering and Parc Fermè areas.

Pit Crew licences can be applied for through karting.net.au

Rear Bumper Bars (KA Manual Page 126)
CIK-FIA homologated rear impact protection must be fitted to each Kart competing in a National Championship and National Series Meeting.

Official Timing Transponder (KA Manual Page 128)
The AMB transponder must be fitted at all times during Competition (including practice) and mounted vertically in an appropriate bracket on the front fairing vertical clamp less than 300mm above the ground.

Video Recording Systems (KA Manual Page 129)
It will be mandatory for each Kart competing in National Championship and National Series Meetings to have a video camera fitted and fully operational at all times while the Kart is on the Track.

The camera and the recording medium is to be made available to the Clerk of the Course or the Stewards of the Meeting should they require it for use in any judicial matter.

Chest/Rib Protector (Class rules)
Rib and/or Chest protectors are mandatory for Drivers Competing in a National Series/Championship in the following classes:

  • Micro MAX
  • Mini MAX
  • Junior MAX
  • Junior MAX Trophy
  • KA 12
  • KA Junior
  • KF3
