Karting Australia has released a Technical Rule Interpretation on the recently homologated Rotax EVO Engines. To view the document in full please click here
This homologation process was completed on Thursday 4 June 2015 and takes account of the Bulletins that BRP Rotax have released as recently as the end of April (and of which KA has been advised by the Australian importer of Rotax Engines) subsequent to the announcement in late 2014 that the EVO Engines would be introduced to karting competitions.
The full Karting Australia statement that accompanied the homologation of the engines can be found here: https://www.karting.net.au/rotax-evo-engines-to-debut-at-pro-tour-round-4
As the EVO engines have now been homologated IT IS PERMITTED to use the EVO Engines in practice on all Karting Australia licensed Race Tracks.
The engines have been allocated to Classes and are permitted for use in Rotax Pro Tour Competition only at this time.
It is expected that the introduction of the EVO Engines and Upgraded older Rotax engines to non-Pro Tour Competition will take place in the immediate future and is pending further evaluation of the measures required to determine parity issues between engines. At the time that the parity issues are fully resolved and they become eligible for Competition, a further TRI will be issued.
Karting Australia acknowledges Traditional Owners of Country throughout Australia and recognises the continuing connection to lands, waters and communities.
We pay our respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and to Elders past and present.
