Ricciardo Kart driver Troy Loeskow has blasted his way around the Lincoln County Raceway to set the pace ahead of this weekend’s Australian Kart Championship opener in Dubbo.
The Queensland driver set a blistering time of 46.498 seconds around the 1037-metre circuit to better the time set by 17-time Australian Champion David Sera by 0.160 seconds in the final session of the day.
South Australian Daniel Price showed promising signs aboard his GP Kart in his first event at the Dubbo venue while former Champion Chris Hays was immediately on the pace with his new team despite a limited testing schedule of late.
In the KA1 class Reece Sidebottom made a strong start to his senior karting career with the fastest time in the class. Marc Tulloch was second fastest on debut in the class with another junior graduate Thomas Steele third fastest.
Former Australian Champion Matthew Waters set the pace in the KA3 Senior class while Brendan Nelson was fastest in TaG 125. In the X30 Victorian Adam Lindstrom showed his class to pace the field.
Queenslanders shared the honours at the top of the timesheets in the elite junior class – KA2 with Jack Doohan, Harrison Hoey and Lachlan Hughes finding their way to the top of the timesheets throughout the day.
Carter Mobbs was fastest in Cadet 9 while the Shamick Racing pair of James Wharton and Kai Allen were the pacesetters in Cadet 12.
Scuderia PCR Australia driver Benito Montalbano was fastest in KA4 Junior.
